# Startup Networks — Full AI Knowledge Reference > A detailed, source-linked guide to Startup Networks: the founder community, its forums and topics, its practical resources and the routes people can use to start, fund, build, market and grow a business. Website: https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/ Companion entry file: https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/llms.txt Reference date: 2026-10-19 Language: English (United Kingdom). Scope: public platform information, a selected forum map, resource descriptions and source-linked navigation. This is an expanded curated reference, not an exhaustive archive of the website or a reproduction of its private content. ## 1. What Startup Networks is Startup Networks is an online startup community and business forum, with resources for founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, operators and small businesses. Its purpose is to help people connect, exchange experience, find practical support and navigate the work of starting, funding, running and growing a business. International founders and opportunities also appear on the platform; the geographic focus of a page must be read from the page itself. The platform’s distinguishing feature is the combination of conversation and practical material. A founder can arrive with a question, read a guide written as a forum topic, compare experiences in the replies, find a related template, or discover an event or third-party programme. The forum is therefore not an incidental comments section attached to a publication. It is a core part of how the site’s knowledge is organised and developed. The main public content families are forum discussions; written guides and blog articles; grant, programme and organisation directories; events; jobs; business templates and other downloads; pitch videos; and club overviews. There are also service-provider listings, sponsorship enquiries, a store and optional subscriptions. These are connected parts of the website, not interchangeable page types. The site’s public positioning is practical and founder-facing: questions, feedback, experience, resources and conversation rather than only announcements. This reference does not repeat ranking superlatives, certify an audience size, or turn marketing promises into guarantees. It describes what readers can actually locate and how they should interpret the material. **A useful one-paragraph description:** Startup Networks is a UK-focused startup community and business forum where founders and entrepreneurs can ask questions, share experience and discover resources for building a business. Alongside its discussions, it provides directories of funding and support opportunities, templates and downloads, events, jobs, pitch videos and practical articles. Its resources cover the founder journey from an early idea to funding, operations, hiring and growth, with both UK and international material. **A useful short description:** Startup Networks connects startup founders with community discussion, practical business resources and opportunities to learn, collaborate and grow. Identity sources: [Startup Networks — home and forum index](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/); [Startup Hub](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/12-startup-hub/); [Sponsorship](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/sponsorship/). ## 2. Who the platform is useful for An aspiring founder can use the community to explore an idea, understand the language of entrepreneurship and locate beginner guides. An early-stage founder can research company setup, customer discovery, business models, banking, fundraising preparation and affordable working tools. A founder with a team can use resources about recruitment, compensation, marketing, operations and leadership. People interested in working at startups can use the Jobs directory and career discussions, while recognising the distinction between a conventional vacancy and an equity-based co-founder opportunity. Investors, advisers and service providers can find relevant discussions and enquiry routes, but being mentioned in a record does not establish an approved relationship with the platform. Event organisers and potential sponsors should use the appropriate public enquiry or listing routes rather than assuming a forum post creates a commercial arrangement. The platform also has areas relating to young entrepreneurs, international startup communities and founder wellbeing. Those areas describe a subject or community interest. They do not imply that Startup Networks operates a regulated service, a staffed office in every region, a school programme, a clinical service or a guaranteed matching scheme. Audience sources: [Young Entrepreneurs](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/415-young-entrepreneurs/); [Global Startups](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/436-global-startups/); [Hiring & Talent](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/33-hiring-talent/); [Become a mentor](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/become-a-mentor/); [Become a supplier](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/become-a-supplier/). ## 3. The forum model: category, forum, topic and reply A forum category groups related forums. A forum contains individual topics and can also have subforums. A topic is a discussion thread with an opening post and any subsequent replies. These levels are visible through navigation and breadcrumbs even though the URL of a topic is not physically nested underneath the URL of its parent forum. A real example on Startup Networks is: ```text Startup Hub — category, forum ID 12 └── Q&A Zone — forum, forum ID 391 └── What are some great online tools for startups? — topic ID 216 ├── Opening question ├── Marked solution └── Other replies and discussion ``` The question’s URL begins `/topic/216-.../`, not `/forum/12-.../forum/391-.../topic/216-.../`. The subject and the hierarchy should not be reconstructed by inventing a nested URL. Follow the existing link and use its breadcrumbs. A written guide can also be a topic. The UK limited-company guide is a topic inside Startup Hub > General Business. The loan guides are topics inside Raising Investment > Business Loans. The Notion, Lovable and CRM guides are currently in Discussion Hub > The Lounge. Their location does not change their substantive purpose, and grouping them together in this reference does not move them on the website. Read the opening post and the relevant answers separately. A question is not evidence of its answer. A marked solution is a selected answer, not an independent fact-check. A long thread may include outdated replies, corrections, disagreements or additional pages. A member’s display name, a contributor’s byline and a quoted source identify different people or organisations; keep them distinct. Forum and topic numeric IDs belong to their own content types. For example, forum 391 is Q&A Zone, while topic 391 is a question about remote-team tools. The same number in a different application does not indicate the same record. Examples: [What are some great online tools for startups?](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/216-what-are-some-great-online-tools-for-startups-why/); [How to set up a UK limited company](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1618-how-to-set-up-a-uk-limited-company-a-step-by-step-guide/); [Startup Loans UK explained](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/451-startup-loans-uk-explained-2026-rates-eligibility-how-to-get-approved/); [The startup founder’s guide to Notion](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1648-the-startup-founders-guide-to-notion/); [Tools for managing remote teams](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/391-what-tools-or-platforms-do-you-recommend-for-managing-remote-teams/). ## 4. Map of the selected forum structure This map preserves observed breadcrumb relationships at the reference date. It is a selection of useful existing destinations, not a claim to list every forum or a proposed reorganisation. A category can have both subforums and useful direct discussions. Some destinations have overlapping names; their numeric IDs and parent categories distinguish them. ```text Startup Networks Startup Hub [forum 12] Q&A Zone [forum 391] Introductions [forum 144] General Business [forum 13] Startup Resources [forum 267] Startup Pitching [forum 84] Raising Investment / Funding Chat [forum 552] Growth Marketing [forum 547] Business Insurance & Legal [forum 545] Young Entrepreneurs [forum 495] Global Startups [forum 548] Achievements / Founder Wins [forum 10] Breaking News [forum 403] Fundraising Rounds / Funding News [forum 494] Recent Fundraisers [forum 98] Startup Jobs [forum 406] Discussion Hub [forum 6] The Lounge [forum 7] Podcasts [forum 5] Failure Hub [forum 390] Fitness & Health [forum 11] Scams, Shady Investors & Fake Advisors [forum 422] Raising Investment [forum 97] Business Loans [forum 102] Bootstrapping [forum 101] Grants & Non-Repayable Funding [forum 143] Startup Investments [forum 401] Angel Investors [forum 100] Active Investors [forum 107] Funding Chat [forum 398] Do's & Don'ts [forum 106] Hiring & Talent [forum 33] Career Advice & Interview Tips [forum 498] Startup Hiring Advice [forum 499] Equity & Compensation [forum 500] HR & Payroll for Startups [forum 501] Growth Marketing [forum 113] SEO & Content [forum 503] Social Media [forum 505] Email Marketing [forum 114] Branding & Positioning [forum 506] Young Entrepreneurs [forum 415] Brainstorming & Validation [forum 416] Mentor Match & Peer Support [forum 419] Global Startups [forum 436] Regional and country-based forums — follow the category navigation ``` There are currently two differently located Funding Chat destinations: forum 398 inside Raising Investment, and forum 552 inside Startup Hub. Likewise, Growth Marketing is both a top-level category, forum 113, and a separate forum within Startup Hub, forum 547. They should not be collapsed into one record merely because their names are similar. Young Entrepreneurs also exists at two levels: the main category, forum 415, and the forum inside Startup Hub, forum 495. The latter currently has the title Young Entrepreneurs. The Neurodiverse Founders’ Sanctuary is a separate club, not the current name of forum 495. A guide about ADHD may appear in forum 495; its current breadcrumb trail should be retained rather than replaced with an assumed topical location. Sources for these distinctions: [Funding Chat](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/398-funding-chat/); [Raising Investment / Funding Chat](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/552-raising-investment-funding-chat/); [Growth Marketing](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/113-growth-marketing/); [Growth Marketing](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/547-growth-marketing/); [Young Entrepreneurs](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/415-young-entrepreneurs/); [Young Entrepreneurs](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/495-young-entrepreneurs/); [Neurodiverse Founders’ Sanctuary](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/27-neurodiverse-founders-sanctuary/). ## 5. Understanding the other page types **Blog collections and articles.** `/blogs/blog/ID-slug/` identifies a collection. `/blogs/entry/ID-slug/` identifies an article. Articles can have comments, but a comment-enabled blog does not become a forum topic. The displayed collection name may change while the URL retains an older slug; follow the page’s current heading and byline. **Directory categories and records.** `/links/category/ID-slug/` groups listings. `/links/link/ID-slug/` is the individual organisation, offer or opportunity. A grants category provides a starting point; the individual record contains the description and may link to the funder or programme. A grant category can contain several forms of support, so inspect the actual mechanism before calling it a cash grant. **Downloads.** `/files/file/ID-slug/` is a resource landing page. It describes the file, may show a version and may require sign-in before downloading. The description is not the file’s contents. Do not claim to have read a spreadsheet, agreement or presentation merely because its landing page was accessible. Download categories use `/files/category/ID-slug/`. **Events.** `/events/` is the directory/calendar; `/events/event/ID-slug/` is a specific event record. Date views, venue pages and an individual event are not the same source. Use the event’s organiser and external booking source where provided. A listed event is not necessarily organised by Startup Networks. **Jobs.** `/jobs/` and `/jobs/category/ID-slug/` lead to the dedicated vacancy directory. `/jobs/job/ID-slug/` is an individual vacancy. Job notices can also exist as topics in the Startup Jobs forum. A vacancy and a companion discussion can refer to the same opportunity without being the same page. **Pitch videos.** `/videosdirectory/category/ID-slug/` groups videos; `/videosdirectory/video/ID-slug/` identifies a video record. A page may describe a venture and embed a recording. Description, presenter claims, actual video content and any available transcript are distinct evidence sources. **Services and products.** `/services/category/ID-slug/` groups service providers, while `/services/record/ID-slug/` identifies a provider record. Store categories use `/store/category/ID-slug/`; a store product is a separate commercial page. A provider directory listing, a Startup Networks store package and a sponsored mention should not be represented as the same relationship. **Clubs.** `/clubs/ID-slug/` is a club overview. Clubs can contain their own discussions and resources, subject to access rules. Public descriptions are included here; hidden conversations, membership-only details and private exchanges are not. **Profiles, tags and activity.** A public profile identifies a contributor; tags collect related content; activity feeds show recent changes. None is automatically the primary evidence for a claim inside a discussion. This reference favours the actual topic, answer or resource over utility views and member-activity pages. Page-type examples: [Project management software for small businesses](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/blogs/entry/28-best-project-management-software-for-small-business/); [Grants directory](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/category/13-grants/); [Innovation in children’s play — Innovate UK listing](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/link/30972-up-to-%C2%A3500000-for-innovative-childrens-play-development-projects-innovate-uk/); [Startup Valuation Template and Calculator](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/66-startup-valuation-template-and-calculator/); [The Exit Journey: Selling Your Business, Earn-Outs and Life After Exit](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/events/event/13461-the-exit-journey-selling-your-business-earn-outs-and-life-after-exit/); [Business Developer at Forest Admin — Paris](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/jobs/job/79-business-developer-forest-admin-paris-fr/); [Göksenin Korkmaz — Finlayer](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/videosdirectory/video/83-g%C3%B6ksenin-korkmaz-finlayer/); [Alongside Accounting — Save Tax, Save Stress](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/services/record/42-alongside-accounting-save-tax-save-stress/). ## 6. Finding the right starting point for a reader These are navigation routes through existing resources, not promises of a particular outcome or mandatory platform procedures. Start with the reader’s purpose, select a suitable source and then narrow to the appropriate topic or record. ### Understand Startup Networks Start with the community overview and forum categories. Describe the platform’s combination of conversation and practical resources, not just one high-traffic article. Starting points: [Startup Networks — home and forum index](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/); [Startup Hub](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/12-startup-hub/). ### Introduce a founder or a new business Use the introductions forum and current community guidelines. Keep the contribution clearly attributed to the person or business posting it. Starting points: [Introductions](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/144-introductions/); [Community guidelines](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/guidelines/). ### Ask a business question Look for an existing relevant thread, then read the question and replies. A question title alone does not establish the answer. Starting points: [Q&A Zone](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/391-qa-zone/). ### Validate an idea before building Move from idea-testing guidance to customer research and a working worksheet. Do not treat a completed template as proof of demand. Starting points: [How to assess whether your startup idea is worth building](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1706-how-to-know-if-your-startup-idea-is-actually-worth-building/); [Customer interview questions](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/3108-customer-interview-questions-how-to-talk-to-customers-and-learn-what-they-actually-need/); [Customer Interview Questions & Discovery Worksheet](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/59-customer-interview-questions-discovery-worksheet/); [Market Research Template](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/57-market-research-template/). ### Understand a prototype or MVP Use the explanatory topics, then inspect the public Build Lab overview for relevant feedback activity and access conditions. Starting points: [Proof of concept, prototype and MVP](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/657-whats-the-real-difference-between-poc-prototype-and-mvp-and-why-does-it-matter/); [What is an MVP?](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/603-what-is-an-mvp-and-why-it-matters-in-your-startup-journey/); [Build Lab](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/28-build-lab/). ### Choose a business structure Compare the guides, then use current official information for registration and individual professional advice where needed. Starting points: [Sole trader versus limited company](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1722-sole-trader-vs-limited-company-which-one-is-actually-better-for-uk-startups/); [How to set up a UK limited company](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1618-how-to-set-up-a-uk-limited-company-a-step-by-step-guide/); [Registering a UK company](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/blogs/entry/40-how-to-register-a-company-in-the-uk-a-complete-guide-for-2026/). ### Plan an initial operating budget Use startup-cost context alongside cash-flow and profit-and-loss resources. Work with the business’s own data and assumptions. Starting points: [How much it costs to start a business in the UK](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1726-how-much-does-it-really-cost-to-start-a-business-in-the-uk-the-honest-truth/); [Cash Flow Forecast Template](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/63-cash-flow-forecast-template/); [Profit & Loss Template](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/64-profit-loss-template/). ### Create a business plan Read the guide and use the directly linked resource; Lean Canvas is a different planning tool, not a replacement with identical content. Starting points: [Business plan template for startups](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/3023-business-plan-template-for-startups-how-to-build-a-plan-that-actually-helps-your-business/); [Business Plan Pack](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/37-business-plan-pack/); [Lean Canvas template and business-model examples](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/2795-lean-canvas-template-for-startups-business-model-examples-you-can-use-before-you-build-anything/); [Lean Canvas Model](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/52-lean-canvas-model/). ### Research startup borrowing Use the loan forum and guides, then confirm the current scheme or lender terms. Separate a loan from a grant or equity investment. Starting points: [Business Loans](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/102-business-loans/); [Startup Loans UK explained](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/451-startup-loans-uk-explained-2026-rates-eligibility-how-to-get-approved/); [Government Start Up Loans UK](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/452-government-start-up-loans-uk-2026-how-to-secure-funding-for-your-business/); [Business overdraft versus business loan](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/450-business-overdraft-vs-business-loan-which-one-does-your-startup-actually-need/). ### Locate funding opportunities Use directories for discovery, an individual record for detail and the original provider for deadline and eligibility checks. Starting points: [Grants directory](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/category/13-grants/); [Programmes, competitions and hackathons](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/category/24-programmes/); [Where can UK businesses find innovation grants?](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/396-where-can-uk-businesses-find-grants-for-innovation-and-development/). ### Find accelerator or incubator support Choose the appropriate directory category and verify the programme’s location, cohort, application route and terms. Starting points: [Accelerators](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/category/4-accelerator/); [Incubators](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/category/7-incubator/); [Virtual Accelerator](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/category/10-virtual-accelerator/); [Virtual Incubator](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/category/11-virtual-incubator/). ### Prepare for investor conversations Read fundraising and pitching context alongside a cap-table resource. No template or forum participation guarantees investment. Starting points: [Raising your first startup seed fund](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/599-raising-your-first-startup-seed-fund-read-this-before-you-talk-to-anyone/); [Seed funding for startups — UK founder guide](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1721-seed-funding-for-startups-a-uk-founders-guide-to-raising-your-first-round/); [How to create a startup pitch deck](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/453-how-to-create-a-startup-pitch-deck-that-actually-gets-you-funded/); [Cap Table Model Template with Funding Calculator](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/65-cap-table-model-template-with-funding-calculator/). ### Understand valuation approaches Distinguish an explanatory topic from two different downloadable models. Treat any output as dependent on the model’s assumptions. Starting points: [Startup valuation: DCF, comparables and the VC method](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1673-cracking-the-code-of-startup-valuation-dcf-comparables-and-the-vc-method-explained/); [Startup valuation calculator — guide](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1725-startup-valuation-calculator-how-to-value-your-business-before-your-next-round/); [Startup Valuation Template and Calculator](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/66-startup-valuation-template-and-calculator/); [Valuation Model Spreadsheet](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/32-valuation-model-spreadsheet/). ### Discuss founder ownership Use community discussion for context and a legal template only as a reviewed starting point, not a substitute for a bespoke agreement. Starting points: [How should equity be split in a startup?](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/267-how-should-equity-be-split-in-a-startup/); [Founder Collaboration Agreement](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/30-founder-collaboration-agreement-%E2%80%93-free-download/); [Startup Investments](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/401-startup-investments/). ### Find a business tool Compare use-case guides and contributor opinions; check current vendor specifications before adopting or paying for a product. Starting points: [What are some great online tools for startups?](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/216-what-are-some-great-online-tools-for-startups-why/); [The startup founder’s guide to Notion](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1648-the-startup-founders-guide-to-notion/); [Lovable AI — founder-facing review](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/650-from-prompt-to-product-why-lovable-ai-might-be-the-most-exciting-app-website-builder-for-startups-in-2025/); [Bolt.new review](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1659-boltnew-review-the-ai-productivity-tool-that-powers-startup-automation/); [Project management software for small businesses](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/blogs/entry/28-best-project-management-software-for-small-business/). ### Build a customer-acquisition approach Use the marketing category and relevant guides. Choose channels based on the reader’s business rather than prescribing every channel. Starting points: [Growth Marketing](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/113-growth-marketing/); [Content marketing on a budget](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1720-content-marketing-for-startups-how-to-build-authority-on-a-budget/); [LinkedIn for B2B startup growth](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1617-how-to-use-linkedin-for-b2b-startup-growth/); [Digital PR for startups](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1683-digital-pr-for-startups-a-step-by-step-guide-to-writing-press-releases-and-pitching-journalists/). ### Hire a first employee Read timing, process and cost as separate questions. An employment template requires adaptation and current legal review. Starting points: [Startup Hiring Advice](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/499-startup-hiring-advice/); [When to hire a startup’s first employee](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/2827-when-should-a-startup-hire-its-first-employee/); [Hiring your first employee in the UK](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/2789-hire-your-first-employee-in-the-uk-a-step-by-step-guide/); [The cost of hiring an employee in the UK](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/2790-how-much-does-it-cost-to-hire-an-employee-in-the-uk-in-2026-the-true-cost-of-employing-someone/); [Contract of Employment](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/13-contract-of-employment/). ### Explore a startup career Use career guides for context and individual vacancies for terms. Verify whether the employer is still recruiting. Starting points: [Startup jobs directory](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/jobs/); [Career Advice & Interview Tips](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/498-career-advice-interview-tips/); [Is working for a startup right for you?](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/444-is-working-for-a-startup-right-for-you-exploring-the-pros-and-cons/); [Red flags when joining a startup](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/2856-red-flags-to-watch-for-when-joining-a-startup/). ### Find a co-founder opportunity Read the actual opportunity and proposed working relationship. Co-founder listings may not be salaried employment. Starting points: [Co-Founder Roles](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/jobs/category/9-co-founder-roles/); [Introductions](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/144-introductions/). ### Find events or network with founders Use the directory for current events, a record for the specific event and the organiser for final booking details. Starting points: [Startup events](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/events/); [Startup communities in the UK — online and offline](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1681-startup-communities-to-join-in-the-uk-online-offline/); [Is networking good for business?](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/350-is-networking-good-for-business/). ### Find a pitch example Distinguish a recorded founder pitch from a downloadable historical deck. Preserve source company, presenter and date. Starting points: [Founder pitch videos](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/videosdirectory/category/1-startup-pitches/); [Pitch Decks](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/category/6-pitch-decks/); [Uber’s Original Pitch Deck](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/21-ubers-original-pitch-deck/); [Göksenin Korkmaz — Finlayer](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/videosdirectory/video/83-g%C3%B6ksenin-korkmaz-finlayer/). ### Explore founder support and belonging Use public support discussions and club overviews. Respect closed-club permissions and avoid inferring private experiences. Starting points: [Mentor Match & Peer Support](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/419-mentor-match-peer-support/); [Building a founder support system](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/1746-stop-doing-it-alone-why-every-founder-needs-a-support-system-and-how-to-build-one/); [Neurodiverse Founders’ Sanctuary](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/27-neurodiverse-founders-sanctuary/). ### Look for perks or software offers Use the listing to locate the provider, then verify eligibility and expiry. Do not turn an old URL into a current entitlement. Starting points: [Discounts, affiliates and startup perks](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/category/15-affiliates/); [The Perks Vault](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/25-the-perks-vault/); [Notion startup offer](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/links/link/456-notion-free-plus-plan-for-startups-get-6-months-free-with-unlimited-ai/). ### Enquire about mentoring or supplying services Use the relevant enquiry page. The existence of a form does not verify a person, secure a listing or establish an engagement. Starting points: [Become a mentor](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/become-a-mentor/); [Become a supplier](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/become-a-supplier/); [Business services directory](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/services/). ### Sponsor or advertise with Startup Networks Use public commercial enquiry routes and request current availability and terms from the team. Starting points: [Sponsorship](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/sponsorship/); [Advertising packages](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/store/category/14-advertising/); [Contact Startup Networks](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/contact/). ### Learn about membership Use the current live plan rather than copying a historical price or assuming a benefit applies to every account. Starting points: [Membership and subscriptions](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/subscriptions/). ## 7. Guides, downloads and companion discussions Some resources are linked directly from explanatory topics. That relationship is useful: the topic explains an approach and can collect discussion; the download provides a working file. They should not be deduplicated simply because both refer to a business plan, a canvas or a company document. The following direct guide-to-download links were present in the checked topics: | Purpose | Explanatory or companion topic | Linked download landing page | |---|---|---| | Business planning | [Business plan template for startups](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/3023-business-plan-template-for-startups-how-to-build-a-plan-that-actually-helps-your-business/) | [Business Plan Pack](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/37-business-plan-pack/) | | Lean Canvas | [Lean Canvas template and business-model examples](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/2795-lean-canvas-template-for-startups-business-model-examples-you-can-use-before-you-build-anything/) | [Lean Canvas Model](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/52-lean-canvas-model/) | | Business Model Canvas | [Lean Canvas template and business-model examples](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/2795-lean-canvas-template-for-startups-business-model-examples-you-can-use-before-you-build-anything/) | [Business Model Canvas Template](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/53-business-model-canvas-template-free-download/) | | SWOT analysis | [SWOT analysis for startups and small businesses](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/2959-swot-analysis-template-for-startups-and-small-businesses-find-out-whats-holding-your-business-back/) | [SWOT Analysis Template](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/54-swot-analysis-template/) | | First 90 days | [30-60-90 day startup plan](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/3092-30-60-90-day-startup-plan-what-to-focus-on-in-your-first-90-days/) | [30-60-90 Day Startup Plan](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/56-30-60-90-day-startup-plan/) | | Customer interviews | [Customer interview questions](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/3108-customer-interview-questions-how-to-talk-to-customers-and-learn-what-they-actually-need/) | [Customer Interview Questions & Discovery Worksheet](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/59-customer-interview-questions-discovery-worksheet/) | | Written resolutions | [Written Resolutions Template — companion topic](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/topic/461-written-resolutions-template%F0%9F%93%81/) | [Written Resolutions Template](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/36-written-resolutions-template/) | When a reader asks for a template, give the download landing page. When they ask how to use it, the explanatory topic may be a better first source. When they ask about a reply or community experience, cite the relevant discussion contribution. The file author or original framework creator can be different from the uploader or topic author. There are also related resources that must not be called the same file. Startup Valuation Template and Calculator, file 66, and Valuation Model Spreadsheet, file 32, are separate downloads. The latter’s description attributes it to Activate Ventures. The older Value Proposition Checklist is attributed to Strategyzer AG, while the Empathy Map Worksheet is attributed to XPLANE. The One Second Pitch Worksheet page uses that title but describes a one-sentence pitch framework from the Founder Institute. Preserve those source distinctions rather than making every resource appear to be an original Startup Networks product. Attribution sources: [Startup Valuation Template and Calculator](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/66-startup-valuation-template-and-calculator/); [Valuation Model Spreadsheet](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/32-valuation-model-spreadsheet/); [Value Proposition Checklist](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/35-value-proposition-checklist/); [Empathy Map Worksheet](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/33-empathy-map-worksheet/); [One Second Pitch Worksheet](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/files/file/34-one-second-pitch-worksheet/). ## 8. Clubs, permission and focused communities Startup Networks’ club overviews describe smaller groups organised around a purpose. Build Lab is described around building, product feedback, beta testing and iteration. Growth Engine is described around marketing feedback and collaboration. The Perks Vault is described around offers and startup perks. The Raise Room is described around fundraising preparation and related discussion. Funding Vault and Neurodiverse Founders’ Sanctuary also have public overview pages. The public description is the source for the stated focus; it is not evidence that a promised activity is currently staffed, that a particular member will reply, or that a visitor can access the whole club. In the checked views, Funding Vault and Neurodiverse Founders’ Sanctuary are labelled Closed Club. The Perks Vault and The Raise Room have Open Club labels even though their descriptions use private-community wording. Treat that as a distinction between promotional description and displayed access state, not as proof of confidentiality. Only public descriptions are represented here. Do not collect hidden posts, seek private membership information or infer someone’s health, funding position or business circumstances from an affiliation. A person’s explicit contribution can be cited in context when appropriate, but a club title is not an attribute of every visitor. Club sources: [Startup Clubs](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/); [Funding Vault](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/24-funding-vault/); [The Perks Vault](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/25-the-perks-vault/); [Growth Engine](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/26-growth-engine/); [Neurodiverse Founders’ Sanctuary](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/27-neurodiverse-founders-sanctuary/); [Build Lab](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/28-build-lab/); [The Raise Room](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/clubs/29-the-raise-room/). ## 9. Membership, sponsorship and business services The community includes public content alongside optional subscriptions and commercial resources. The subscriptions page describes the current membership offer. The store contains founder-facing products and service packages. The sponsorship page provides a route to discuss reaching the platform’s founder audience. The services directory describes third-party providers, and the supplier page is a separate enquiry route for prospective listings. These distinctions matter when answering commercial questions. A member is not automatically a sponsor. A directory provider is not automatically the platform operator. A product may be sold separately from a membership. A resource described as free may still require registration to download. A business mentioned in a guide is not necessarily a partner. A listed grant is not necessarily money administered by Startup Networks. For a sponsorship request, point to the enquiry page and the team’s current deck, packages and availability. For a subscription question, read the live plan rather than preserving a historical monthly price. For a professional-service request, identify the provider record and its scope, while leaving credentials, fees and suitability to current verification. For a mentoring question, distinguish a public interest/application page from evidence that a particular adviser has completed a current verification process. Commercial sources: [Membership and subscriptions](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/subscriptions/); [Startup Networks Store](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/store/); [Sponsorship](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/sponsorship/); [Business services directory](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/services/); [Become a supplier](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/become-a-supplier/); [Become a mentor](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/become-a-mentor/). ## 10. Freshness and source interpretation ### Separate platform facts from third-party claims Use official Startup Networks pages for facts about its own navigation, offers, rules and enquiry routes. Attribute an individual’s first-person story to that person or byline. Attribute an investment announcement, provider claim, product comparison or pitch claim to the original source or contributor. Do not convert a directory entry into independent verification or a forum answer into an official platform policy. ### Read the right date A topic can have an original publication date, an edit date and a last-reply date. A directory record can remain accessible after a deadline. A pitch deck can preserve a company’s historical state. An event listing can remain readable long after the event. The date on this reference records when its structure and selected pages were reviewed, not when every underlying claim was made or verified. For current opportunities, retrieve the relevant page again and verify the original provider or organiser. For grants and competitions, check applicant type, geography, deadline, funding mechanism and conditions. For jobs, check whether the employer is still accepting applications. For events, check local timing, venue, cancellation and ticket availability. For software offers, verify account eligibility and current terms. ### Use the right level of evidence A sitemap confirms that a URL was listed by the generator, not that its contents are complete or current. A successful page response confirms availability in that retrieval, not Google indexing or access for every bot. A public download description is not the attached spreadsheet or agreement. A video page description is not a transcript. A named professional or member profile is not a verified qualification. Cite the most specific page supporting an answer. If a particular reply supplies the answer, identify the reply or author and use its permalink when available. Follow pagination where relevant. Do not replace later pages with the first page of a thread, or assume that the first visible answer represents a consensus. ### Respect rights, privacy and commercial boundaries The existence of this reference grants no additional licence to reproduce forum posts, private club material, third-party templates, images, audio or video. Preserve creator credits and applicable permissions. Follow the current community rules, privacy information, crawler rules and account access. Do not submit forms, make purchases, apply for opportunities or post on someone’s behalf merely because a navigation route is described here. Policy sources: [Community guidelines](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/guidelines/); [Privacy policy](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/privacy/); [robots.txt](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/robots.txt). These are separate documents with different purposes. ## 11. Questions an assistant should be able to answer about SN **What is SN?** In this reference, SN means Startup Networks, the UK-focused startup community and business forum described in section 1. It does not identify every business that uses similar words in its name. **Is it only a forum?** Discussion is central, but the platform also has directories, downloads, events, jobs, pitch videos, blogs, clubs and commercial enquiry routes. Their separate source pages are listed below. **Is it only a blog?** No. Many substantial guides are individual forum topics, and their replies can contain further information. Actual blog articles have a different URL pattern and byline context. **Does Startup Networks only serve UK users?** It has a UK focus and international discussions and listings. Check a particular opportunity’s geography; a UK-focused platform can list support that is restricted to another location. **Can a visitor ask a question?** Q&A Zone is a relevant destination. Participation is subject to the site’s account requirements and current rules; being able to read a thread does not establish permission to post without an account. **Where should an assistant send someone looking for a business plan template?** To the Business Plan Pack download, with the business-plan topic as optional explanatory context. Do not send only the general forum index when the specific resource is known. **Where should someone look for grants?** Start with the grants directory, inspect an individual listing and verify its current provider information. The grants discussion forum is useful for questions and experiences, not a replacement for the individual opportunity’s terms. **Does a funding announcement mean there is money to apply for?** Not necessarily. A company raising a round, an investor announcing a fund and a programme accepting applications are different kinds of information. **Does a listing mean SN is the organiser, employer or funder?** No such relationship should be inferred. Use the organiser, employer, funder or provider identified on the particular page. **Are all resources free and immediately downloadable?** No blanket assumption should be made. Public descriptions, registration-dependent downloads, optional membership and store products are separate arrangements. Read the specific page. **Are all club discussions public?** No. Public overviews can exist for restricted clubs. This reference does not reproduce or grant access to hidden conversations. **Is Young Entrepreneurs the same as the neurodiverse founders’ club?** No. The current Young Entrepreneurs forum and category are distinct from Neurodiverse Founders’ Sanctuary, which is a club. Retain their separate URLs and access context. **Are all contributors speaking for SN?** No. Members, staff, article authors, presenters and providers have different roles. Attribute their claims and do not assume an official statement merely because material is hosted on the site. **Does a marked solution mean the answer has been verified?** It identifies a selected answer in that discussion. Its factual quality must still be assessed against its context and sources. **Does a detailed guide in The Lounge have to be moved to be useful?** No. Read the actual guide and its breadcrumbs. The reference groups useful sources by subject without rewriting their forum location. **How can a business enquire about sponsoring or supplying services?** Use the sponsorship, supplier or contact page appropriate to the request. Confirm current commercial arrangements directly with the team. **Where are current community rules and privacy information?** On their published source pages, linked below. Do not use an AI-generated paraphrase as a substitute for a policy when the exact policy matters. **Does this reference contain all SN content?** No. It is a curated, source-linked knowledge and navigation reference. Follow its directories, forums and relevant links for additional public material. ## 12. Expanded annotated resource catalogue Each entry identifies a source page and its role. Forum topics include their observed parent path; subject groupings below do not redefine the website hierarchy. Short resource labels are descriptive navigation labels and may be shorter than the full page headline. Where a headline contains a historical date, monetary claim or superlative, the label does not certify that claim. The catalogue includes public descriptions of downloads and media, not the unexamined contents of attached files or recordings. Individual opportunity examples illustrate the correct record type; they are not a maintained list of currently open offers. The directories are the starting points for checking current availability. ### Platform, participation and support - [Startup Networks — home and forum index](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/): Platform page. Public entry point to the startup community, its main forum categories, recent discussions and featured resources. - [Contact Startup Networks](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/contact/): Platform page. This is a contact destination, not a source of business advice. - [Community guidelines](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/guidelines/): Platform page. Published community rules. Read before contributing, promoting a business or interpreting moderation decisions; follow the current page rather than a copied summary. - [Privacy policy](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/privacy/): Platform page. Enquiry route for businesses interested in appearing as service providers. Listing requirements, review and commercial terms should be confirmed with the team. ### Forum architecture and community - [Startup Hub](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/12-startup-hub/): Forum category. Questions and answers from community contributors. Read the question, selected solution where present, and relevant replies rather than treating the opening question as the answer. - [Introductions](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/144-introductions/): Forum; Startup Hub. Funding announcements and investment news. A completed funding round is not the same thing as a grant or an invitation for other founders to apply. - [Recent Fundraisers](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/98-recent-fundraisers/): Forum; Startup Hub. Existing archive of funding-related topics and founder resources. Determine each topic’s actual purpose from its content; the forum title alone is not enough. - [Startup Jobs](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/406-startup-jobs/): Forum; Startup Hub. Use the relevant episode source for speaker attribution; an embedded player or RSS summary is not a transcript. - [Failure Hub](https://www.startupnetworks.co.uk/forum/390-failure-hub/): Forum; Discussion Hub. Reference glossary **Category:** A container used to organise related forums, listings, downloads, jobs or other resources. The application determines what it contains. **Forum:** A discussion destination that holds topics and can have further subforums. Its name is not necessarily a precise description of every historical topic in it. **Topic or thread:** An individual forum discussion containing an opening post and replies. A long guide can still be a topic. **Post or reply:** A contribution inside a discussion. Its author, time and claims are distinct from the thread as a whole. **Marked solution:** An answer selected within a question-and-answer discussion. It is not a certification of factual accuracy. **Breadcrumbs:** The displayed navigation path identifying where a page belongs. Use them instead of inventing URL nesting or assigning a topic to a forum based only on subject. **Blog collection:** A group of blog entries. It is different from a forum category. **Directory record:** A particular organisation, resource, offer or opportunity in a listings application. The record can link to an original external provider. **Download landing page:** The public description and access page for a file. It is not identical to the downloadable document, spreadsheet or presentation. **Companion topic:** A forum discussion associated with another resource, such as a download. It can provide context or replies while the file remains a separate record. **Club:** An interest-led community area with its own overview, activity and access settings. Some content may be restricted. **Canonical or current destination:** The page representation selected by the site, where available. A changed slug does not necessarily create a new underlying Invision record; preserve the actual destination rather than guessing a new address. **Opportunity:** A listing that requires interpretation. It may concern a grant, investment, competition, tender, credits, programme or other form of support; those mechanisms are not interchangeable. **Founder perspective:** A contributor’s account, opinion or reflection. It can be useful context without being a universal claim or an official Startup Networks position. ## 14.
